There is a big difference. The sinner saved by grace acknowledges that they were a sinner and the only hope they had was in Jesus, not their good points or good works. It is easy for people to admit that Hitler and the likes of him were sinners.
The devil would like us to believe that. If it were just a situation where we could be saved on our own by being good and doing honorable works, Jesus would not have died.
That leaves them as an unredeemed sinner. It is hard to write this, but I must be faithful to you. Sinners that have not been saved are on their way to hell. Have you been saved? The church in general today has not fulfilled our job to pray until souls are convicted and see their need.
This article may offend some. Those who are saved look as varied as sinners do. They are all shapes, sizes, colors, ethnic backgrounds and religious affiliations. We all have so much in common, but the difference between a sinner and a saint is whether they have been saved. It must be done in this life.
Our condition spiritually cannot be altered after death. So I would urge you today if you have not given your heart to Jesus, do so today. Jesus came to call those who are conscious of their sins and those who see their need for a Savior. Through the blood of Christ sinners are saved and are set free.
How amazing is our God! Jesus satisfied the requirements of the Father and He took our place on the cross. He died, He was buried, and He was resurrected for our sins. He came specifically to save you. He knows you by name and He came to save you. Believe His death, burial, and resurrection on your behalf.
Believe that all your sins have been atoned for. Believe that He has taken away your hell. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. Are Christians sinners? The answer to this question is yes and no.
We all have sinned and we all have inherited a sin nature. However, when you put your trust in Christ you will be a new creation born again of the Holy Spirit. No longer are you seen as a sinner, but you are seen as a saint. Being born again of the Holy Spirit does not mean that we do not struggle with sin. However, we will have new desires and affections and we will no longer desire to live in sin.
We will not make a practice of it. Am I still a sinner? However, is that my identity? My worth is found in Christ not my performance and in Christ I am seen as spotless. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. But even though God is holy, perfect, righteous, and just; he is also merciful, gracious, loving, and kind.
God, through his mercy, created a way for you and I to be pardoned from the condemnation of our sin. The only way to be freed from the judgment we deserve is to admit our own fallenness before a holy God, repent of our sin, and believe in Jesus. Our fine is paid. We are no longer his enemy. In that moment, by the power of the Spirit of God , our nature is changed from one of enmity to obedience.
Our hearts now run toward God rather than away from him. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. So what about you? If you died today, would you stand guilty before God because of your unpaid debt of sin? Or will you choose the forgiveness that Jesus offers through his perfect work on the cross, place your total trust in him, and make him your Savior and Lord?
