What does darcy call mjolnir

Just like Black Widow, everybody deserves a chance to wipe the red in their ledger. Jane Foster sees THOR through the eyes of a love interest and science , and Selvig sees him through the eyes of astrophysics. Darcy, on the other hand, gives us the everyday reaction to the god of thunder. It gives us a different perspective, and it is from her that a lot of the fish-out-of-water humor comes from, and she asks the questions that the average person might ask.

While she becomes nearly useless in the second movie, I believe she does fit into the first one as the comic relief. Darcy is a rather odd character in the MCU. She even got her own sub-plot in Thor: The Dark World, where she got her own intern while still being an intern herself. Here is my confession, I actually enjoyed her as a character.

Even if she was comic relief, she still had her own personality and was a toned-down version of Kat Dennings character on Two Broke Girls. Still, we had two scientists in Selvig and Foster who were mostly archetypes themselves. I remember more scenes involving Darcy than I do with Foster, which is odd given that she was played by Natalie Portman.

His speedy delivery and her dry attitude could make for an interesting pairing. I would not be disappointed for her to appear in a future film or TV show.

Misses were made as much as hits, with Darcy being one of the former. Darcy was one of the comedic litmus tests in Phase 1 that paved the way for MCU staples like Luis and his Antourage and her place in the MCU changed things for the better. It may not seem like it, but the first Thor film was styled after a Shakespearian drama which is why it was directed by Kenneth Branagh. Darcy, huh? Well, I gotta say, I never truly understood why she was so disliked by most of the fans.

I mean, is she a little annoying? Also yes. But who cares? Of all of the side characters on the film side of the MCU, Darcy has arguably been the most out of place.

Poor dialogue aside, this was always going to be an impossible role to fill. Even their one scene together in Thor: The Dark World is far more memorable than any of his interactions with Jane, as Darcy simply asks Thor in a curious and friendly manner how space has been, which is an interaction that still makes me smile. Lewis," which gave her instant status and agency while communicating that she has professionally evolved in the decade since her last appearance in Thor: The Dark World. Lewis is now on the same level as Dr. Jane Foster , and she's clearly a renowned expert in her field of astrophysics - why else would S. Darcy not only quickly figured out that the hidden data entwined in the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation emitting from the mysterious Westview were television broadcast signals, but she also had the smarts to demand an old-style cathode tube TV set so she could watch Wanda and Vision's sitcom.

Darcy was key in researching the true identities of Wanda's show's supporting cast - perhaps Darcy could relate to them since she was a supporting character herself. Lewis then figured out how to send a signal into the radios inside Westview, which allowed Jimmy to try to talk to Wanda through the radio. While it didn't quite work as intended, it was an ingenious plan. Best of all, Darcy was able to provide the necessary scientific data and analysis while still being her naturally funny self, quipping about getting coffee and enjoying Wanda's show.

In under 30 minutes, WandaVision not only transformed Darcy into a thoroughly well-rounded character but it also turned Dr. Lewis into the episode's co-lead who anchored the most impactful chapter of the MCU series so far.

WandaVision not only fulfilled Darcy's potential but left fans wanting more of her. Jimmy only appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp prior to WandaVision and, while he was an entertaining new character, his main function was to be bamboozled by Scott Lang Paul Rudd breaking house arrest while Woo tried and failed to master magic tricks.

But Jimmy was still memorable and endearing, thanks to Randall Park's wit and charisma, so it's great that WandaVision also imported Agent Woo and gave his character more credence. WandaVision was able to showcase Jimmy's smarts and humor while delving into his lifelong love affair with the FBI.

The MCU movies' laser focus on its marquee superhero characters are a primary reason why they and the films are so beloved by audiences worldwide, but the downside has always been the disservice paid to the movies' supporting cast, its villains, and even other heroes like Scarlet Witch herself.

For fans who have been waiting years for Darcy, especially, to have her potential finally fulfilled, it's gratifying to see WandaVision fix a character the Thor movies didn't do nearly enough with. And it wasn't because of magic; Darcy Lewis became a better character thanks to WandaVision 's good writing. John Orquiola is a Features staff writer who has been with Screen Rant for four years.
